3D 2N CHIANG MAI ART RETREAT
Art Getaway to Reconnect with Creativity
27–29 June 2025
Whether you’re new to art or returning to your practice, this retreat offers a chance to slow down, explore, and reconnect with your creativity in one of the world’s most inspiring cities for folk arts and crafts.
Why I Host This
I first visited Chiang Mai in 2005 as a travel writer, invited to explore its cultural richness while hosted by the then Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi. Since then, I’ve returned many times as an artist, continually drawn to the city’s gentle pace, artistic heritage, and the discovery of nature’s role in its unique creative communities.
Over the years, Chiang Mai has become a quiet source of creative inspiration. Its flower markets, craft communities, temples, and forested surroundings offer a grounded rhythm that nourishes reflection and creativity.
I designed this retreat to offer you a similar experience—a gentle space to explore ideas, reconnect with your artistic side, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating in good company.
What to Expect
Morning Art Sessions
Start each day with relaxed, focused workshops in sketching, watercolour, and mixed media. You’ll explore travel journaling, learn to paint seasonal flowers such as the curcuma, and discover edible flowers in season.
Cultural Inspirations
Wander through flower markets, artisan stalls, and quiet galleries. Let the textures, colours, and stories of the city guide your creative flow.
Time to Recharge
Take breaks between sessions for journaling, café stops, visits to hidden bakeries, and market finds. Create at your own pace. If you’re extending your stay, I’ll share my favourite spots for deeper exploration.
A Thoughtful, Small Group
Connect with 4–8 fellow travellers who appreciate slow travel, creativity, and meaningful shared moments.
